It was Tehvan, a renowned Empire scholar, who saved her from that fate and raised her as his own daughter. Under his protection, Elora has lived a life of safety and privilege within the Institute—a stark contrast to the brutal reality her peers endure.
While other students are forced to fight for survival, Elora has been free to fully immerse herself in the study of alchemy. Tehvan’s guidance has given her a significant advantage, fueling her passion for the craft and the sense of freedom it brings. To her, becoming an Empire Alchemist feels like the future she’s destined for. A future where her skills will define her, not her past. But that vision is shaped by Tehvan’s careful protection and attention, leaving her blind to the harsh truth that serving the Empire is anything but freedom.
Elora’s privileged position isolates her. She’s resented by many, like the sharp and bitter Symond, yet she still manages to form close bonds with those who see beyond her status, like her loyal friend Arria. Her sheltered life has made her believe she’s untouchable, confident that nothing can threaten the future she’s worked toward. But in a world ruled by cruelty and power, even the strongest walls can break.
